Affordable nutrition

Money is tight, processed food and junk food pack more bang for your buck, and unless you plan to tax unhealthy foods , how do you expect people to choose nutritious foods?

Last month Michigan Gov. Granholm and her family took a week-long “food stamp challenge,” spending only $5.87 per day per person on food — the Michigan food stamp allotment. She told reporters that she ended up buying a lot of macaroni and cheese. Or this couple out in California who survived for one month on $1/ day for food. Neither were healthy.

I’m interested in how much it really costs to eat a healthy diet.
